MySQL Upgrade
The following message was sent to (mysql.iu.edu) account owners on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.
Colleague,
This notice is to inform you that the mysql.iu.edu service will be unavailable on Sunday, October 25th from 12:00AM to 8:00AM in order to upgrade the MySQL database platform from MySQL 3.23 to MySQL 5.
The downtime is necessary in order to ensure a consistent copy of databases and to upgrade the current databases to MySQL 5. During this time period you will be unable to login to the MySQL servers and web applications on Webserve will be unable to establish connections to databases on the MySQL servers.
After the upgrade and migration is complete, the host name mysql.iu.edu will point to the upgraded databases on the MySQL 5 platform.
