How to use Cyberduck on Webserve

For Macintosh users, we suggest using Cyberduck as your SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) client. It is available from IUware Online.

1. Open the Cyberduck program. Once open, click on Open Connection in the upper left corner.

2. From the drop down menu at the top, [1] select SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol).

In the remaining fields enter the following:

Server: webserve.iu.edu
Username: [account_name]
Password: [passphrase]

Replace [account_name] with the name of your web account. For most, the name of the account appears after the tilde (~) in the URL for that account. Enter the passphrase for your Webserve account in the password field.

Click on Connect.

3. A window will open displaying the list of files and directories in your Webserve account. To view the files within the www directory, click on the triangle next to it.

To upload files or folders, drag them from your computer into the Cyberduck window inside the www directory. To download files or folders, drag them from Cyberduck to your computer.
